DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Mortgage Loan Representative, you are the liaison between prospective/existing members and the credit union, focusing on Portfolio Mortgage related inquiries. You are responsible for soliciting and interviewing applicants for loans, gathering background information as required and analyzing loan applicants’ credit history. With partnership from our Loan Servicing Department, you can ensure timely response to member inquires, and ensure a standard of service excellence. In addition, at Employer, you have the unique ability to:

  • Work with a team of branch partners to serve current members and grow membership via external business opportunities.
  • Help applicants that may have been turned down by other lenders due to low credit, no credit, no seasoning on bankruptcy or foreclosure.
  • Give each loan a local in-house decision based on character, capacity, credit history, and collateral. Not a minimum credit score.
  • Utilize a unique niche to obtain turn down referrals from other lenders/institutions/realtors rather than competing for same conventional/conforming business the next lender is looking for.
  • Up to 100% LTV on refinances and 90% LTV on purchases with no PMI.
  • No limits on gift funds, gifts of equity, or seller concessions plus co-borrower/signer options.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate is one committed to providing exceptional service and has two or more years in Mortgage Lending experience or related Banking or Sales experience with a knowledge of the mortgage loan application process.  It’s more than “crunching numbers” at Employer (MCU), we take the time to understand our members and fully understand their story to find creative solutions to help them achieve their financial dreams.  Candidates should have proven success networking and building new business relationships.  Knowledge of consumer credit and general financial terms, products, and services is preferred.  Additional qualifications include:

  • Experience in soliciting outside business and building industry/community contacts as referral partners.
  • Experience in working in a high paced detail oriented role with a record of meeting sales goals.
  • Experience working face to face with customers in a sales & service environment.
