Human Resource Generalist - Bilingual

Our Opportunity

Responsible for the support of day-to-day Human Resources operations include recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits administration, employee development, interpretation of HR policies, legal and government compliance, employee communications, payroll oversight, performance management, safety and driving positive employee relations and engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations & Performance Improvement

  • Develops and sustains proactive relationships with assigned business partners

  • Provides counsel to management regarding performance evaluations, progressive counseling and other employee matters

  • Coaches managers and provides tools to support employee recognition and appreciation. 

  • Functions as a neutral contact for internal concerns/complaints brought forward by employees or managers.

  • Documents details, conducts objective investigations as necessary

  • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights or discrimination complaints. Represents the company for unemployment claims.

  • Identifies, develops and communicates action plans to increase employee engagement, retention and motivation. 

  • Coordinates employee events and recognition programs

 

Recruiting & Employment:

  • Coordinates hiring process to fill manufacturing job openings.

  • Develops recruitment plans, reviews applications, screens &  interviews candidates to match experience with specific job related requirements

  • Manages the selection process with onsite supervisors and management.

  • Helps to coordinate use of temporary employees.

  • Conducts or ensures reference checks are conducted.

  • Conducts new employee orientation.

  • Prepares necessary documentation for new hires, terminations, resignations, etc.

  • Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement.

  • Ensures local employee files and corporate personnel records are appropriate and properly maintained.

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Analyzes local wage and salary reports and data to recommend annual merit increases for and range movement for hourly positions; administers compensation program to ensure compliance and equity within location and competitive in the local area

  • Provides benefit plan communication and enrollment for employees at assigned locations

 

Training & Employee Communication

  • Translates written communication (i.e. employee newsletters, open enrollment communication, etc.) from English to Spanish.

  • Tracks and coordinates all training in Company human resources policies and supervision/management training, including new-hire training programs

  • Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.

  • Contributes to or may lead team for quarterly company newsletter.

  • Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

  • Quarterly walks through all shifts with plant manager

 

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field with at least 2 years of HR generalist experience; or equivalent combination

  • Must be able to travel internationally

  • Bilingual – English/Spanish strongly preferred

  • Manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred

  • Solid knowledge of employment law and HR best practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational and diplomatic skills

  • Ability to research information and analyze data, arrive at valid conclusions, make recommendations and plan of action.

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations relating to all employment functions

  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.

  • Must have the ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
