ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Clinical Research & New Solutions develops, deploys and manages programs and capabilities rooted in Consumerology and Health Decision Science. This department serves clients and patients through programs and services that support better drug choices, better pharmacy choices, and better health choices. The department includes Knowledge Solutions, Research & New Solutions and Clinical Solutions.

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Sr. Project Manager, CR&NS Strategic Program Management Office is to provide program and project management over a portfolio of strategic initiatives for the Clinical, Research and New Solutions division to ensure all annual goals are achieved.

This role is designed to ensure standardization, reduce duplication and leverage resources such as people, technology, and communication within the CR&NS business unit while working with our cross-functional partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide leadership and direction for the portfolio of projects that are being managed by the Strategic Program Management team. Responsible for the successful implementation of key strategic projects and initiatives.  Develops project plans, designs, processes and timelines to support organizational deliverables and milestones. Reviews and tracks status of workstreams, risks and issues, delivery of milestones and tasks, and provides project updates to leadership and partners.
  • Responsible for developing governance processes and standards and best practices to manage the overall product portfolio.  This includes collaboration with Product partners, IT, and other key business partners to ensure business needs and goals are being appropriately prioritized and met.  
  • Expert communicator – ability to appropriately tailor messages to the audience. Proactive problem solver.  Flexible and comfortable working in an innovative process. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain cross-functional partnerships. Ability to quickly learn project landscape and identify gaps, risks, and issues. Ability to work autonomously.  
  • Provide assistance to partners across the organization with issues needing cross-functional expertise and escalation.  Educates and mentors others to ensure they understand the processes and best practices that have been defined to achieve efficiencies. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalations and issue resolution; directs proactive resolution.  Ability to identify repetitive tasks and questions, or common issues, constraints, and recommend process improvements so corrective action can be pursued and expedited.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or relevant experience
  • 8-12 years relevant experience or Master’s degree with 5-10 years relevant experience
  • Extensive project management skills using various programs to prepare and execute business plans; Microsoft office applications; Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage complex analysis from issue identification to proposal of potential solutions; Ability to travel as needed
