POSITION TYPE:  Medical Technologist Coordinator (MT)

LOCATION:  Lafayette, IN

POSITION TYPE:  Full-Time Permanent

SHIFT:   8 hour shifts, may work over as needed. Weekend and/or Holiday rotation.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist the supervisor in the technical aspects of the areas of responsibility.  This may include but not be limited to advanced technical knowledge of the instrumentation in the areas of responsibility.  Knowledgeable quality control and operations of the areas of responsibility.

Beckman Platform- AU680, DXI, DXH, IRIS, VElOCITY, 
Mini-Vidas
ECHO- Blood Bank
PFA
IL- TOP 350 Coagulation Analyzer

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Candidate must be able to do manual differentials.
  • Assist the supervisor in the technical aspects of the areas of responsibility.  This may include but not be limited to advanced technical knowledge of the instrumentation in the areas of responsibility
  • Knowledgeable quality control and operations of the areas of responsibility.
  • Must be a generalist training in all sections of the lab.

CERTIFICATION/ LICENSURE:

  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Technologist MT (ASCP or AMT) required

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical, Physical, Biological or Clinical laboratory science or  Medical technology from an accredited institution and have one year of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing.

Qualify under 42CFR493.1489 (b) (2). Have earned an associates degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or have equivalent education and training as defined in 42CFR493.1489 (b) (2) and have at last 2 years of laboratory training or experience, or both in high complexity testing: or have previously qualified as a general supervisor under section 493.1462 on or before February 28, 1992 with exceptions as stated in 42CFR493.1461 (3) (ii).
