POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Employer’s Production Services team manages our core infrastructure assets. Our team is the first line of support on any production related issues including our network and telecommunications, computing (middleware), and end-user support, as well as the firm’s 24x7 data center operations. The Production Services team collaborates closely with our business-aligned partners in technology and with key stakeholders across the enterprise.
 
As a Lead Engineer you will be responsible for managing the plans, technology roadmaps and third level support for core hardware, software, data and infrastructure components within the Enterprise Data Movement team.  Your role will coordinate and align technology roadmaps with solution and enterprise architecture to ensure alignment to Employer’s enterprise wide technology architecture.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 

  • Designs, develops and engineers hardware architecture user interfaces and business software components
  • Full lifecycle application development related to middleware and enterprise data movement
  • Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages
  • Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
  • Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD)
  • Software modeling and simulation
  • Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation
  • Support, maintain and document software functionality
  • Integrate software with existing systems
  • Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
  • Maintain standards compliance
  • Implement localization or globalization of software
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots complex issues, restores service and performs root cause analysis 
  • Documents the design, operation and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures
  • Responsible for building, configuring, patching, and upgrading core infrastructure platforms for a mission-critical, multi-site enterprise environment
  • Responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance and continual service improvement of infrastructure platforms
  • Participate in project level architecture governance including the collaboration on and development of solution architectures & designs
  • Facilitate the review / vetting of these designs with the architecture governance bodies as required
  • Mentor junior development and engineering staff on architecture best practices, design patterns and reference architectures 


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Experience
 
  • Seven or more years of experience with enterprise level data movement/messaging/streaming products
  • Experience in Kafka and Apache NiFi
  • Five or more years of experience with IBM’s data movement portfolio of products
  • Experience with clustered/grid architectures and associated HA, workload management, and DR practice
  • Experience with Java is required
  • Experience in development and administration utilizing Flink, JSON, MuleSoft, IBM Sterling Portfolio, IBM Information Server (including DataStage, Information Analyzer, and Information Governance Catalog), IBM MQ, and CICS technologies preferred
  • Experience across Linux, AIX, Windows, and Mainframe Operating Systems preferred
  • AWS and Azure experience preferred
  • z/OS SMP/E skills preferred
  • Scripting in ASP, HTML, PHP, Python, Perl and JavaScript preferred
