POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The DevOps Technical Lead will serve as part of our DevOps Engineering team and sit out of our Charlotte, NC office.  This role faces off to internal IT teams including Application Development and QA.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Oversee creation and approval of technical documentation including the Solution Definition document and Technical Design document; ensure documentation is aligned to the Functional Requirements and uses document templates that meet SDLC standards

  • Identify and manage dependencies and downstream impacts of the project to minimize adverse effects on other projects and / or programs

  • Manage day to day technical challenges and communicate to project manager any risks or issues associated with the development activities

  • Definition of an enterprise wide Code Quality approach

  • Assist Project manager with the estimation of technical timelines and allocation of the technical resources to specific task

  • Coordinate coding and unit testing phases of system development and facilitate Code Reviews

  • Identify opportunities for system reuse and system simplification

  • Communicate Expectations, Roles and Responsibilities to team members and hold them accountable to meet the expectations

  • Collaborate with IT partners to devise capacity plan and ensure appropriate infrastructure for the end to end system delivery



QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Skills:

  • 5 or more years of experience with scripting and programming languages including Java / JEE or Groovy

  • Experience enabling CICD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline, Gitlab CI, and others

  • Experience developing and automating deployment of applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Spring Core

Desired Skills:

  • 5 or more years of experience with Continuous Integration using tools such as GIT, Maven / Gradle, Jenkins/Hudson, Sonar, Cobertura/ clover and Artifactory

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent and 10 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10 or more years of experience with scripting and programming languages including Java, J2EE, JSP, REST, JSON, JSON

  • 5 or more years of experience with Linux or Unix systems including monitoring and tuning of app/Webb tier

  • Demonstrable understanding of web application servers (JBOSS / WebSphere/Tomcat/Apache)

  • Experience with cloud computing and container solutions such as Microsoft Azure, GoogleCloud, or Amazon EC2, Docker preferred

  • Experience with Message Queues such as (TIBCO EMS, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka or similar technologies) preferred

  • Experience managing and integrating test automation (Selenium, Cucumber, etc.) into various points in a development pipeline preferred

  • Experience with monitoring and log analytics tools ( similar to elasticsearch, LogStash, Kibana, Splunk,) preferred
