Overview:

The role reports to a regional Director of Finance in the Sales Operations organization and will be a critical component to supporting the sales team’s effort by helping growing the business as well as creating insights and efficiencies.

 

The Snr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting with annual budget, financial forecasts, deal analysis, incentive compensation, and other business issues requiring financial analysis.  The role will support the regional Business Manager and will act as a financial and analytical support function for a sales region. Role:     

  • Snr. Financial Analyst
  • Member of Sales Operations team
  • Business partner for members of other functional areas

 Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the regional Business Manager with the following functions:
    • Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecast Process
    • Prepare monthly business reporting and analysis
    • Analyze results and forecasts
    • Ad hoc analysis
    • Support Selling teams with reporting, analyses and projects as needed
    • Market Yield improvement analysis
    • Deal Analysis
    • Customer profitability analytics                
    • Pipeline Analysis
    • Expense Control

Requirements:

  • Finance or Business B.S/B.A
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis
  • Business partnering skills with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Flexibility to work as position demands
  • High degree of reliability
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing deadlines, and prioritizes work appropriately
  • Proven ability to act with confidentiality, discretion and flexibility
  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English essential, comfort in working with multi-location teams
  • Analytical skills for the purpose of providing the best financial reporting solutions
  • Aptitude to own and manage small to medium sized projects
  • Detailed working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel;

Preferred:

  • Educational publishing experience
  • Prior project management skills
  • Prior SAP experience a plus but not required
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, modeling)

Physical Requirements:


• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
