Service Engineer – On Site (Chief Building Engineer Supervis
To manage laboratory instrumentation and its maintenance program and provide technical expertise, which will result in a high level of equipment reliability, for the site’s present and future needs.This person is responsible for ensuring that equipment is qualified, preventive and corrective maintenance is performed and documented properly, and that all related documentation is maintained. Responsibilities may include managing equipment for multiple users.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General oversight of laboratory instruments. Ensure all changes to the equipment that may affect the data is to be documented in GMARS and stored in the equipment file. Ensure all individuals that repair or maintain the equipment are qualified to do so. Vendor management, PO creation and vendor escort. Create and Report on vendor performance quarterly. Document any failure or out of tolerance condition that may have potential impact on product quality or data quality or data integrity and notify equipment owner. May perform maintenance activities if by education, training or experience, they are qualified to perform the activities. Delta V, Aspen Alarm acknowledgement, may require coming in on off hours Decontamination of lab equipment for Maintenance, Repair or Storage. Fill in as building wardens. May be required to place stop tags on all new capital equipment
Experience working in a laboratory
Working knowledge of CMMS. Maximo experience is highly recommended. Working knowledge of MS Office. Ability to take direction and work as a member of a team. Must be able to interact with a wide variety of shop floor maintenance craftspeople, operators and laboratory personnel. Results oriented. Sense of urgency. Collaborative. Service oriented. Ability to make and communicate logical decisions using data, both verbally and in writing. Read, write and interpret technical and management documents in English language. Able to distinguish color. Position requires significant interaction with variety of areas including laboratory personnel, maintenance technicians, process engineers, project engineers, craftspeople, vendors, maintenance supervisors, maintenance managers, planners, schedulers, and stores personnel.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree – Bachelor of Science in Chemistry .
