Job Summary

Job Description

Employer Cloud (CLC) is the focal point for all cloud-related development inside the larger Employer Corporation. We consciously maintain our small company/startup feel, while taking advantage of the resources available from such a large company. As such, we have a very strongly focused Dev/Ops culture, highly skilled agile workforce, with development as our core activity. We build the cloud, we build the applications that run on it, and we make it run:  Every day, all the time. It’s what we do.

At CLC, we’ve created an environment where people come together to work hard and drive results, but also offer flexibility and work-life balance. CLC is a high growth venture-backed company recognized by industry analysts as an up-and-coming cloud service provider and an innovator in cloud software.

We’re very much a polyglot company. This position would be doing development work for the Infrastructure Automation team that builds APIs and applications to manage our cloud infrastructure. In this position, you would join our highly collaborative and cross-functional “Tinman” engineering team. The Tinman team values world-class quality, continuous improvement, continuous learning, collaborative development, keeping it simple, solving problems, and having fun. As part of this team, you will work alongside Tinman’s product owner, developers, and infrastructure experts to plan, design, build, test, and operate services designed to make our cloud infrastructure “hands-free”. The technology stack is currently a mix of C#, NodeJS, Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell, but the team is always open to trying new tech.

Must Have’s:

  • 7+ years’ software development experience
  • 5+ years’ experience with a modern programming language like; C#, Ruby, Go or JavaScript
  • 4+ years’ of experience building web-based systems using some or all of the following technologies; modern HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Linux admin and Shell scripting skills
  • Windows admin and PowerShell scripting skills
  • Familiarity with programming concurrent and/or distributed systems.
  • 2+ years of agile software development experience, TDD and refactoring
  • Experience developing and operating highly available, highly reliable systems
  • Good collaboration and communication skills

Nice to Have’s:

  • 2+ years’ developing distributed cloud architectures and infrastructure.
  • Experience with JavaScript and Node.js
  • Experience with SQL databases and document stores (like Couchbase and Elasticsearch) is a plus
  • Solid understanding of web related protocols and standards, such as HTTP, SSL, REST and JSON
