This position is responsible for self-performing Property Condition Assessments (PCA), Structural Condition Assessments (SCA), Design Services; and, providing direction, oversight and review of junior staff performing similar Structural assessments and design services.
Project Manager duties while self-performing PCAs.
Coordinates and directs staff assigned to projects on a project by project basis on which technical review will be performed.
Provides technical direction and guidance to Project Managers on Structural issues.
Prepares monthly Structural tips of the month for companywide distribution.
Train junior personnel in performance of structural projects.
Self performs Structural Assessments on all structural types, as appropriate by client scope.
Self performs structural analyses and prepares designs for remedial projects.
Oversees preparation of same by other Employer staff members and consultants.
Self performs Structural review of construction documents for construction projects being reviewed by Employer’s Project Management Oversight group, when requested.
Self performs Probable Maximum Loss (PML) studies.
Reviews and technically edits reports to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality.
Ensures on-time delivery of reports and accompanying correspondence to clients.
Communicates with clients and management to discuss and develop solutions to recognized architecture and engineering concerns.
Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying new and existing legislation; anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on necessary action in the areas of Structural systems.
Delivers outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to client needs.
Performs Business Development activities with the intent to build upon existing accounts, and to develop new business accounts.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Professional registration as a "Professional Engineer."
15 years minimum experience performing Structural Engineering Services and Condition Assessments.
Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong skills in structural engineering analysis and design software packages, including AutoCad.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
A demonstrable track record of excellent time management skills combined with the capability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is essential.
The ability to do domestic travel.
