Job DescriptionThe Busser plays a vital role in delivering fast, polite, and highly attentive service to every guest by ensuring the lounge environment remains impeccably clean, organized, and welcoming. Specific obligations can vary based on client demands and daily operational needs.
This position will support daily food service operations at the Alaska Airlines Lounge located inside the Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, AK. Full-time, part-time and on-call positions available.
Responsibilities- Promptly clears used plates, glassware, and silverware from tables and lounge areas once guests have finished or departed.
- Thoroughly sanitizes and wipes down tables, chairs, and surrounding areas to prepare for new guests.
- Resets dining and seating areas neatly according to lounge standards.
- Transports soiled dishes, glassware, and utensils to the dishwashing area safely and efficiently.
- Assists in sorting and organizing dirty dishes for the dishwashing staff.
- Supports Buffet Attendants and waitstaff by restocking clean plates, silverware, napkins, and glassware at buffet and beverage stations.
- Promptly cleans up spills and sweeps or vacuums floors as needed to maintain a safe and pristine environment.
- Empties trash receptacles and safely transports waste to designated disposal areas.
- Completes all required foodborne illness, allergy, and safety training.
- Promptly reports any workplace accidents, injuries, or maintenance issues.
- Adheres to all company risk management and safety protocols.
- Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success may also be assigned.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Ability to pass SIDA Badge test, which includes an assessment of knowledge related to airport security protocols, access control procedures, and safety regulations in secure and restricted areas.
- Ability to obtain an Alaska AOA Badge. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Successfully pass an FBI fingerprint-based background check.
- Complete and pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA).
- Have no outstanding warrants or be able to provide documentation of their resolution.
