City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects during the school day. Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction and reinforce lesson objectives. Monitor, document, and report on student progress and engagement. Build positive, mentoring relationships that promote students’ social-emotional development. Encourage and support regular student attendance and classroom participation. Help plan and facilitate enrichment, after-school, or intervention activities as needed. Communicate regularly with school staff and City Year teammates to align supports. Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development. Model inclusive, culturally responsive practices that support all learners. Contribute to a collaborative team culture focused on student success and equity.
