City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Support teachers in the classroom to reinforce lessons and classroom routines Build positive, consistent relationships with students as a mentor and role model Track and document student progress and participation using City Year tools Assist with behavior support and social-emotional skill building Help plan and lead after-school, enrichment, or community-building activities Collaborate closely with teammates, teachers, and school staff on student support plans Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development sessions Support schoolwide events, family engagement activities, and service days Uphold AmeriCorps and City Year policies, service standards, and core values Tutoring in math and reading Classroom support and management Data entry and basic progress monitoring Youth mentoring and relationship-building Communication with students, families, and staff Time management and organization Team collaboration in a school setting Cultural competency and inclusivity Basic computer and educational technology use Facilitation of group activities or lessons Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps Member Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Proof of authorization to work in the U.S. Commitment to full-term AmeriCorps service requirements5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
