City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Provide daily one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to K–12 students Support teachers with classroom activities, behavior management, and lesson reinforcement Mentor students to build social-emotional skills, goal setting, and confidence Monitor and document student progress, attendance, and engagement data Collaborate with school staff and City Year team members to plan interventions Communicate with supervisors about student needs and program outcomes Participate in training, coaching, and professional development sessions Model inclusivity, respect, and commitment to social justice in school settings Literacy instruction Math tutoring Lesson reinforcement Classroom management support Student mentoring Data tracking and progress monitoring Small-group instruction One-on-one academic support Behavioral support strategies Basic educational technology Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Background check eligibility to work with children Ability to meet AmeriCorps or similar national service program requirements (e.g., age and work authorization) Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or youth development preferred but not required5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
