The Senior Commercial Credit Underwriter (VP level) underwrites complex commercial loans, including CRE, C&I, leveraged finance, tax credit, and asset-based facilities. The role focuses on cash flow, collateral evaluation, and borrowing base analysis to produce clear credit recommendations, support relationship managers, monitor existing credits, and participate in loan committees while occasionally mentoring junior credit staff. Underwrite complex commercial loans secured by real estate, receivables, inventory, fixed assets, and unsecured structures. Perform detailed cash flow, collateral, and credit risk analysis and present clear recommendations. Review and monitor financial statements, borrowing base certificates, and covenant compliance for existing borrowers. Support relationship managers in structuring and analyzing proposed credit facilities and pipeline deals. Participate in loan committee meetings as a credit representative and clearly communicate credit positions. Maintain current knowledge of industry, economic, and market conditions affecting credit quality. Provide coaching and informal mentoring to junior credit staff as directed by the Credit Manager. Collaborate with lending units to manage renewals and maturities while maintaining high customer service standards.
