As a Senior Claims Examiner, Complex Liability at Gallagher, you will manage a portfolio of high-severity and complex liability claims from first notice through resolution. You will conduct detailed investigations, analyze coverage, assess liability and damages, and set and adjust reserves. You will negotiate settlements with claimants, carriers, and counsel, ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards. Partnering with brokers and risk managers, you will support key clients, mentor junior staff, and contribute to process improvements in a collaborative, ethics-driven culture. Investigate complex liability claims, gathering statements, evidence, and documentation. Analyze coverage, liability, and damages in accordance with policy language and regulations. Evaluate reserves and authorize payments, settlements, and denials within authority levels. Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and carriers to achieve fair outcomes. Collaborate with brokers, underwriters, and risk managers to support client risk strategies. Prepare clear reports, correspondence, and recommendations for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure regulatory compliance, timely handling, and accurate claim file documentation. Provide guidance and mentoring to junior examiners and claims staff. Identify trends, potential fraud, and opportunities to improve claim outcomes. Participate in training and continuous learning to maintain subject-matter expertise.
