Overview

Stanford University's Vice President for the Arts seeks a Finance Manager to serve as the primary financial business partner for Cantor Arts Center and the Anderson Collection. You will manage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. You will translate complex data into actionable insights, lead cross-functional projects, and support strategic decision-making for arts programs. This role blends analytical rigor with organizational impact, helping advance Stanford's arts priorities. You will work in a hybrid/remote setting and contribute to a culture of excellence and integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Perform highly analytical, complex finance and control functions
  • Conduct multi-dimensional reconciliations and related analysis
  • Prepare or review complex transactions and high-value transactions
  • Research and synthesize large data sets to identify trends and develop solutions
  • Develop budget and forecasting scenarios and long-range planning analyses
  • Identify and resolve high-significance issues with in-depth analysis
  • Design and implement internal control programs and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Lead and execute cross-functional projects and teams affecting operations
  • Provide training on new financial systems and act as subject matter expert
  • Represent the organization to clients and external partners as financial advisor
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and six years of relevant experience
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP/financial systems
  • GAAP knowledge
