City Year AmeriCorps Members serve full-time in schools to support student success. In this role, you’ll provide academic support, encourage consistent attendance, and help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment. Working in a diverse team, you’ll build mentoring relationships with students, assist teachers, and lead small-group activities that strengthen skills and confidence. City Year offers structured training, coaching, and leadership development in a collaborative, social justice–oriented culture, giving you the opportunity to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact in your community. Provide daily in-class and after-school academic support to students Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to encourage engagement and attendance Support teachers with classroom activities, routines, and behavior management Track and report student progress using program tools and data systems Collaborate with a diverse team of AmeriCorps members and school staff Help plan and lead social-emotional learning and enrichment activities Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and professional development Engage families and community partners to support student success Student tutoring and academic support Classroom management support Youth mentorship Data entry and progress tracking Basic computer literacy (Google/Microsoft tools) Professional written and verbal communication Team collaboration Time management and reliability Conflict de-escalation and problem solving Cultural humility and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance AmeriCorps eligibility (US citizen or permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred) Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish or other languages (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
