City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor & Mentor to support students in partner public schools. In this full-time, in-school role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one academic support, reinforce classroom lessons, and serve as a consistent, positive mentor. Working closely with teachers and a diverse team of AmeriCorps members, you will track student progress, encourage engagement, and help create an inclusive, supportive learning environment. Deliver daily in-school academic tutoring and mentoring to students in core subjects. Support teachers with classroom activities, small-group instruction, and lesson reinforcement. Build trusting relationships that promote students’ social-emotional growth and school engagement. Track student progress and document interventions using basic data tools. Collaborate with a diverse team of AmeriCorps members and school staff to meet student goals. Participate in City Year-led training, coaching, and professional development sessions. Communicate regularly with school partners about student needs and successes. Model inclusive, equity-focused behavior aligned with City Year’s culture and values.
