City Year seeks an Academic Tutor & Mentor to support students in partner schools. In this full-time role, you’ll provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring, reinforce classroom learning, and mentor students to build academic and social-emotional skills. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers and a diverse AmeriCorps team, track student progress, and assist with enrichment and school-wide activities. City Year offers training, leadership development, and a collaborative, equity-driven culture focused on student success and your professional growth. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects Reinforce classroom lessons and help students build key skills Mentor students to support social-emotional growth and engagement Track student progress and share updates with teachers and staff Support classroom management and a positive learning environment Assist with enrichment, after-school, and school-wide activities Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to meet school goals Participate in ongoing training, reflection, and leadership development Small-group instruction One-on-one tutoring Lesson reinforcement Classroom management support Data tracking and reporting Educational technology platforms Communication with teachers and staff Youth mentoring and coaching Cultural competency Time management Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Teaching credential (preferred) Tutoring certification (preferred) Background check required Experience working with K-12 youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
