Merryhill School is seeking a caring Preschool Substitute Teacher to support our small, academically focused classrooms on an as-needed basis. As part of our close-knit, student-centered community, you will step into classrooms to deliver engaging, age-appropriate instruction while maintaining a warm, safe, and structured environment. You will follow established lesson plans, support children’s social and emotional growth, and ensure consistent classroom routines. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, collaborate with dedicated educators, and gain experience within a supportive education network. Provide high-quality classroom instruction as a substitute preschool teacher following established lesson plans and routines Maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment aligned with school policies and licensing requirements Supervise children at all times, including transitions, outdoor play, and meal/rest periods Support social, emotional, and academic development through age-appropriate activities and positive guidance Communicate effectively and professionally with staff, administrators, and families as needed Adapt quickly to different classrooms, age groups, and teaching styles within the preschool program Accurately follow attendance, safety, and incident-reporting procedures Collaborate with permanent teachers and leadership to ensure continuity of learning and care Classroom management for preschool age children Early childhood curriculum implementation Child supervision and safety practices Behavior guidance and positive discipline Lesson plan execution and adaptation Parent and staff communication Recordkeeping and basic reporting Time management and flexibility Knowledge of child development CPR and First Aid Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k State early childhood education certification or permit preferred CPR and First Aid certification preferred Background check and eligibility to work in a licensed preschool setting Training in child safety and mandated reporting5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
