Behavioral Health Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (LPT/LVN) to provide direct and indirect patient care in a psychiatric setting. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, supporting patients through therapeutic communication, monitoring, and daily care activities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide care to psychiatric patients using age-appropriate interventions

Assist with patient data collection and documentation

Support therapeutic and recreational activities

Utilize effective communication and de-escalation techniques

Ensure patient safety and well-being at all times

Requirements

Licensure:

• LVN/LPN or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) - Required

Certifications:

• BLS (AHA or ARC) - Required
• CPI (or willingness to obtain onsite) - Required

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric experience
• Acute or long-term mental health experience preferred

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED - Required
• Associate's Degree - Preferred

Note: Mental Health Technicians are NOT eligible for this role.
