PRECISE BEHAVIORAL IS HIRING: Medical Director - Psychiatrist (Women's Health)

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Director - Psychiatrist with experience in reproductive psychiatry to join our team and provide exceptional mental health care to patients.


Scope of Role: This position provides a combination of clinical and administrative telepsychiatry services for a hospital in California, including evaluation of mental health patients referred from OB/Obstetrics with a focus on women's health.


Skills:

  • Strong diagnostic evaluation skills to assess mental health conditions accurate
  • Ensure psychiatric consultations meet clinical standards and best practices for all provider types (MDs, NPs, LCSWs)
  • Provide guidance on complex cases and clinical decision-making
  • Monitor/improve workflows to ensure timely and appropriate patient care
  • Conduct regular chart reviews to assess documentation quality, diagnostic accuracy, and treatment appropriateness
  • Identify trends or gaps in care and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission)
  • Participate in monthly and/or quarterly calls with client and providers
  • Review performance metrics, discuss clinical challenges, and share best practices
  • Provide updates on protocols, policies, and program goals
  • Collaborate closely with the program administrator to align clinical operations with business goals
  • Provide clinical input on staffing, training, and technology needs
  • Participate in hospital committee meetings as requested
  • Investigate clinical complaints or adverse events and collaborate with compliance teams as needed
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies and provider education
  • Conduct patient evaluations, assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans


Requirements:

  • MD/DO Medical degree with specialization in Psychiatry
  • Trained in reproductive psychiatry
  • Board certification in Psychiatry
  • Valid California state medical license to practice as a psychiatrist
  • Active CA DEA
