ABOUT ONESTOP MEDICAL CENTER

Onestop Medical Center is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity located in Pleasanton, CA. We deliver comprehensive primary, behavioral, and preventive health services to adult and older adult patients in the Tri-Valley region, with a focus on Medi-Cal beneficiaries and underserved populations. Our sliding-fee scale ensures all patients receive high-quality care regardless of ability to pay.

As a community-based nonprofit, Onestop holds formal Educational Affiliation Agreements with multiple accredited universities and colleges. Our physicians serve as clinical preceptors for Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) students and supervising physicians for Medical Assistant (MA) students - contributing directly to healthcare workforce training in the East Bay.


THE ROLE

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Primary Care Physician in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine to join our outpatient clinic on a full-time basis. This is a dual-function role combining direct patient care with clinical education and student supervision.

Salary: $225,000-$275,000/year, commensurate with experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts - no nights

Patient Volume: 24-26 patients per day in an outpatient-only setting

Call: Low after-hours call volume shared equally among all 5 clinic physicians. The majority of after-hours contacts are routine and handled by our administrative staff - true clinical calls requiring physician input are minimal

Licensure: Active or pending California medical license accepted at time of application

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Patient Care:

Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care to adult and older adult patients (ages 18+)

Conduct physical exams, take medical histories, and perform preventive health assessments

Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, COPD, cardiovascular disease, and mental health comorbidities

Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and monitor patient progress

Prescribe medications and conduct medication reconciliation

Coordinate care with specialists and allied health professionals as needed

Provide patient education on prevention, chronic disease management, and lifestyle modification

Serve Medi-Cal beneficiaries and uninsured patients under our sliding-fee scale policy

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR system in compliance with HIPAA

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team-based care meetings

Participate in shared after-hours call rotation equally divided among all 5 clinic physicians

Clinical Education and Student Supervision:

Serve as supervising clinical preceptor for FNP students completing practicum rotations at Onestop

Supervise FNP students during patient encounters, providing real-time instruction, feedback, and formal evaluation of clinical competencies

Supervise and train Medical Assistant (MA) students in clinical support tasks including patient intake, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, EKG, and EMR documentation

Model evidence-based clinical practice and professional conduct

Coordinate with university and college clinical program directors as required

Ensure all student rotations comply with HIPAA, patient safety standards, and clinic policies

Note: The student preceptor and supervisory role is an essential function of this position. Candidates must be willing and able to fulfill this duty.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Degree: MD or DO from an accredited medical school - required; no substitution accepted

Licensure: Active California medical license - OR documented confirmation of pending CA license application

Board Certification: Board-certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine by ABIM, ABFM, AOBIM, or AOBFM - OR board-eligible candidates who provide proof of scheduled exam date and written commitment to pass prior to start date

ECFMG: ECFMG certificate required for international medical graduates (IMGs)

USMLE: Passage of USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3 required for international medical graduates

BLS: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience: Minimum 1 year of outpatient experience in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine within the past 3 years preferred; graduating residents welcome to apply

Patient Population: Comfortable caring for a diverse adult patient population including Medi-Cal beneficiaries

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team-based care environment

Preceptor: Willingness to supervise FNP and Medical Assistant students - essential function of this role

Setting: Outpatient-only primary care clinic - no hospital, no inpatient

Relocation: Candidates must be able to relocate to or commute to Pleasanton, CA 94588 before start date

Region: Pleasanton is in the East Bay - 30 minutes from San Francisco, Oakland, and Silicon Valley
