Performs routine procedures using independent professional judgment in the practice of optometry within the scope of the laws of the state of California, the rules and regulations of the California Board of Optometry and the policies of Mountain Health & Community Services. Will perform vision tests and analyze results, diagnose sight problems and eye diseases. Will examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose abnormalities. Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications. Proficient in the use and interpretation of standard ophthalmic equipment. Makes sound clinical diagnoses. Maintains compliance with all current organizational, state and federal organization pertaining to Optometry. (Bi-lingual Spanish/English a plus). Direct Reports: Optometry Technician Qualifications Education/Experience: Completion of bachelor's degree, and a current, valid license to practice optometry issued by the California State Board of Optometry Examiners. State-issued license for optometry and O.D. Ability to see patients of all ages including children. Employment Type: Full Time
