Manchester Memorial Hospital seeks a Periop Preference Card Manager to lead the build, maintenance, and optimization of perioperative preference cards supporting safe, efficient OR care. In this on-site role, you’ll collaborate with surgeons, nursing, anesthesia, and materials management to ensure accurate supplies, standardized workflows, and cost-effective utilization. Responsibilities include analyzing utilization data, reducing variability and waste, supporting EMR/OR system updates, training staff on new processes, and driving continuous quality improvement in a compassionate, team-focused environment. Own the build, maintenance, and accuracy of all perioperative preference cards. Collaborate with surgeons, OR nurses, anesthesia, and materials management to align supplies with clinical needs. Analyze utilization, case cost, and variance data to reduce waste and standardize practice. Coordinate updates in EMR/OR systems when procedures, supplies, or workflows change. Ensure regulatory, safety, and documentation standards are met for perioperative processes. Educate and support clinical staff on preference card changes and best practices. Partner with supply chain to ensure item availability, substitutions, and cost-effective choices. Monitor OR workflow impacts of preference card changes and adjust for efficiency and safety. Lead or support quality improvement projects focused on perioperative care. Report key metrics to perioperative leadership and recommend process improvements.
