City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in math and English to help students stay on track academically. Build positive relationships with students as a mentor and role model, encouraging attendance and engagement. Track and report student progress using school and City Year tools and data systems. Collaborate with teachers and City Year teammates to plan and deliver interventions and classroom activities. Support whole-school initiatives such as assemblies, family events, and service projects. Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and leadership development provided by City Year.
