Water Business Group Professional Services Director

In this role, you lead technical quality, project delivery, and professional practice for HDR's Water Business Group. You will align practice areas, drive delivery excellence, and promote standards that boost project outcomes. You'll partner with leaders to advance technical excellence, develop future leaders, and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration. The position offers visibility across the matrix and a chance to shape delivery strategies and risk management in large-scale water projects.

• Lead development and training of staff in technical, professional, and service delivery competencies
• Guide adoption of new technologies and digital delivery methods
• Evaluate and implement professional services technologies and QC systems
• Coordinate staff training on policies, risk management, and quality
• Drive continuous improvement through standards, best practices, and lessons learned
• Support practice groups and project teams with productivity and service delivery initiatives
• Collaborate with project management, owner's advisors, and alternative delivery programs
• Develop technical and delivery approaches and risk management for strategic initiatives
• Lead QA/QC program activities to ensure quality and continuous improvement
• Oversee recruitment, staffing, and development of key personnel; support engagement and technology advancement
• Foster cross-group collaboration and alignment of delivery strategies across operations and marketing

• Professional engineering registration
• Extensive leadership experience in professional services, program/project delivery, or related areas
• Proven ability to mentor diverse technical and professional teams
• Strong QA/QC, risk management, and continuous improvement expertise
• Executive presence with ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences
• Commitment to HDR values and quality of work
• 15 years of experience
