As a Physical Therapist Assistant at Encompass Health, you’ll support licensed Physical Therapists in delivering evidence-based rehabilitation to patients recovering from strokes, orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, and complex medical events. You’ll follow established care plans, lead therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and functional mobility sessions while documenting progress in the EMR. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you’ll educate patients and families, ensure safety and infection control standards, and contribute to a culture of clinical excellence, compassion, and continuous learning. Implement PT treatment plans under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Provide therapeutic exercise, gait, balance, and functional mobility training Monitor, measure, and document patient progress in the EMR system Educate patients and families on exercises, safety, and home programs Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team on patient care goals Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Assist with discharge planning by reporting functional status and progress Contribute to a patient-centered, compassionate care environment Therapeutic exercise implementation Neuromuscular re-education Gait and balance training Functional mobility training Patient assessment and documentation (EMR) Care plan implementation Patient and family education Interdisciplinary team collaboration Infection control and safety practices Time management in acute/post-acute care Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current state Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license Graduation from an accredited PTA program BLS/CPR certification Experience in inpatient rehabilitation preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
