The Clerk PCA functions as an assistant to the Registered Nurse performing routine procedures under his or her supervision. The CPCA provides general clerical support to customers of a patient care unit by functioning as a receptionist, transcriber, monitor of medical records, and information/communication specialist.

Additional: Successfully complete the Department's Clerk/Patient Care Assistant training requirements. Successfully complete departmental and unit competencies of the CPCA. (Demonstration of competence is key. Training requirements may vary based on background). Ability to work flexible hours/shift and to alternate weekends.
Considerations: Successfully complete 12 hour computer(HIS/LRIS)training course and Clerical Training Program. Clear speech and legible handwriting. Ability to handle multiple demands/requests simultaneously. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Typewriter keyboard/computer familiarity preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: None provided
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required for those not currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a nursing program.
