City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students alongside teachers Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Support students’ social-emotional skill development Assist with afterschool and enrichment programs Build positive, inclusive relationships with students and school staff Monitor and track student progress and participation Communicate regularly with teammates, teachers, and City Year staff Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Promote a safe, welcoming classroom and school environment Support school and City Year events, projects, and initiatives Tutoring and academic support (literacy/math) Classroom assistance and behavior support Data tracking and basic progress monitoring Youth mentorship and relationship building Communication with students, families, and staff Basic lesson and activity planning Time management and organization Conflict resolution and de-escalation Cultural competency and inclusive practices Team collaboration in school settings Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (citizenship or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for work in schools Proof of high school diploma or equivalent Completion of City Year and school district onboarding/trainings5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
