Job Description:
As a Quality Analyst, you will be responsible for developing and executing test plans to validate software applications, particularly in Java and mainframe environments. This role requires hands-on testing experience, test case creation, and defect tracking to ensure applications meet business and technical requirements. You will also collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues and document findings in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and create detailed test plans, test scenarios, and test cases
• Execute tests for Java applications on distributed platforms and validate program changes
• Perform data verification and write complex queries using Postgres and DB2 databases
• Identify, log, and track defects using Jira and communicate findings to development teams
• Document both program-level and user-level information throughout the software lifecycle
• Manage test environments and provide clear communication to ensure testing milestones are met
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure transparency and timely delivery
• Troubleshoot application issues and assist with debugging during integration testing
• Ensure proper version control and follow client procedures for code checkouts and migrations
• Support quality improvements by recommending enhancements that improve software performance

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience testing Java applications
• Proven experience with DB2 and Postgres, including data validation and querying
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and QA methodologies
• Ability to perform integration testing, track defects, and verify resolution
• Proficient in Jira for managing test cases, bugs, and reporting
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to create summary reports and validate test data
• Skilled in producing clear and complete documentation for technical and end-user reference
• Strong communication skills for obtaining user approval and conveying testing outcomes
• Ability to adhere to client procedures for version control and deployment processes
• Commitment to delivering efficient, reliable software with optimized performance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Java programming
• Experience with AWS platforms
• Exposure to Kofax

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $35.00 to $55.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
