Landscape Design Associate – Cad & 3D Production (High-End Residential)

Our client is a high-end residential design/build firm focused on modern outdoor living spaces. They are hiring a Landscape Design Associate to support their design/build sales team, senior designers, and studio director with CAD drafting, 3D modeling, site measurements, and general design support.

What you'll do

  • Support the design studio by producing and updating base plans, site plans, and construction drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Assist with permit plans and documentation required for local approvals.
  • Create and refine 3D models and visualizations in SketchUp (or similar 3D applications) to support client presentations.
  • Conduct site analysis and measurements, including field verification, photos, and data collection for new projects.
  • Collaborate with senior designers and the studio director, translating design direction into accurate drawings and models.
  • Provide drafting and design support across multiple projects, helping the team meet deadlines during busy seasons; some administrative support related to drawings and documents as needed.

What we're looking for

  • 1–3+ years of experience in a landscape design or design/build support role; longer-term tenure in a similar role may substitute for formal education.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills with the ability to build accurate base plans and make detailed revisions from redlines.
  • Working knowledge of SketchUp or other 3D design tools; comfort producing basic 3D views and visuals.
  • Solid site analysis and measurement skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to support permit submittals and understand the basics of constructible drawings; prior experience preparing permit plans is a plus.
  • Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture with a design emphasis, or similar education is preferred; strong experience in a comparable role can be considered in place of a degree.
  • Portfolio that showcases strong conceptual/studio work; built projects are a plus but not required for this level.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and readiness to "hit the ground running" with minimal training on basic skills (training will focus on the firm's standards and processes).
  • Organized, able to handle multiple tasks, and comfortable working in a busy, collaborative studio environment.

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary range from $60,000 to $75,000, depending on experience and attitude.
  • Additional benefits package to be discussed during the interview process.

How to apply

  • Please submit your resume and a digital portfolio or work samples.
  • For this role, strong conceptual and academic work is welcome; highlight any CAD sets, 3D models, or project work that demonstrates your technical and design abilities.
