"Critical Care APP Locum Opportunity IllinoisA healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with Critical Care experience to join a collaborative ICU team providing coverage across Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical ICU step-down units.Compensation:$145/hrPosition DetailsSpecialty: Critical Care MedicineProvider Type: Nurse Practitioner or Physician AssistantSchedule: Night shifts, 7:00 PM 7:00 AMCoverage: MondaySundayMinimum of 3 consecutive shifts requiredApproximately 16 shifts per monthProviders must have one day off after working 6 consecutive daysNo call responsibilitiesPractice SettingHigh-acuity ICU environmentAdult patient populationCollaborative team including attending physicians, fellows, residents, and APPsFull and temporary privileges availableClinical ResponsibilitiesManage approximately 1015 patients per dayDevelop and implement treatment plans for critically ill patientsPerform bedside procedures, including:Central line placementArterial line placementManage post-operative cardiovascular surgery patientsProvide care for neurocritical care patients, including:Subdural hemorrhagesExternal ventricular drains (EVDs)Participate in the management of:Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs)VA ECMOHeart transplant patientsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient careCoverage Model & SupportThree APPs provide coverage across Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical ICU step-down unitsPulmonary patients are managed in a step-down setting with support from an on-site Pulmonary FellowTrauma and NICU residents are available on-siteAttending physicians provide consultation and support as neededPreferred ExperiencePrior Critical Care APP experience requiredComfortable managing high-acuity ICU patientsExperience with:Neurocritical careCardiovascular critical careVADsECMOTransplant patientsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary teamEMREpicRequirementsBoard Certified or Board EligibleActive Illinois license required at time of presentationIMLC not acceptedDEA requiredCSR requiredACLS requiredBLS requiredMinimum 1 year of experienceCredentialingEstimated credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 daysTemporary privileges available" read more
