Human Resources Coordinator (Chicago / Onsite)
Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
We're seeking a motivated Human Resources Coordinator to join a collaborative HR team based out of our Chicago headquarters. This roleserves as the primary resource for employee questions while providing hands-on support across several HR functions. The HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting internal processes and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
Location: Chicago, IL (downtown/Loop)
What You'll Do
  • Provide administrative support across multiple HR functions while ensuring compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations
  • Create, maintain, and audit employee personnel files (both electronic and physical)
  • Ensure all new hire documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant
  • Manage HR checklists for new hires, terminations, and temporary staff
  • Process employment verifications and generate HR reports using ADP Workforce Now
  • Support the end-to-end onboarding process, including pre-employment requirements
  • Coordinate with hiring managers on start dates, orientations, and onboarding logistics
  • Plan and coordinate internal events aimed at employee engagement and morale
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Psychology, Labor Relations, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 2-3 years of HR experience with exposure to multiple HR functions
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms, preferably ADP Workforce Now
  • Prior nonprofit experience strongly preferred
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and professional with strong communication skills

Pay Details: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
