As an Academic Tutor and Mentor with City Year, you’ll serve in public schools to support students’ academic and personal growth. Working full-time on a diverse AmeriCorps team, you’ll provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, assist teachers in the classroom, and mentor students to build their confidence and social-emotional skills. In City Year’s collaborative and inclusive culture, you’ll receive ongoing training, coaching, and professional development while contributing to educational equity and making a meaningful impact in your school community. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Support teachers with classroom activities and student engagement Mentor students to build confidence and social-emotional skills Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to support student success Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Communicate regularly with supervisors about student needs and progress Support school-wide events, activities, and family engagement efforts Tutoring in reading and math Classroom support techniques Youth mentoring Behavior management Data entry and progress monitoring Basic educational technology (e.g., learning platforms, spreadsheets) Time management and organization Written and verbal communication Cultural competency and working with diverse populations Collaborative teamwork Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k City Year AmeriCorps eligibility (U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident) Background check clearance Experience with K-12 students (preferred) Basic training in tutoring or youth development (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
