City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support in core subjects Support teachers with classroom activities and behavior management Track and report student progress using provided tools and data systems Lead or assist with afterschool, enrichment, or mentoring programs Build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff Help create an inclusive, safe, and engaging school environment Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to plan and deliver services Support school-wide events, initiatives, and attendance efforts Model leadership, respect, and a commitment to social justice Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and behavior management Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data entry and progress monitoring Time management and organization Verbal and written communication Teamwork and collaboration Cultural competence and inclusivity Basic conflict resolution Facilitation of group activities or workshops Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (meets citizenship and background check requirements) Ability to commit to a full-time 10–12 month service term Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
