City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to assigned students Support students’ social-emotional development through mentoring and relationship building Assist teachers with classroom management and instruction Track and report student progress using City Year tools and school data Plan and lead after-school or schoolwide programs and activities Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to meet student needs Participate in ongoing City Year and AmeriCorps trainings and professional development Engage families and community partners to support student success Model positive behavior, attendance, and school engagement for students Support school improvement initiatives and a positive school climate Tutoring in math and reading Classroom support and behavior management Student mentoring and youth engagement Data entry and progress monitoring Basic MS Office or Google Workspace Communication (written and verbal) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Conflict resolution and de-escalation Cultural competency and working with diverse communities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Must qualify and enroll as an AmeriCorps member Successful background check per AmeriCorps and school district requirements Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status (for AmeriCorps eligibility)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386 read more
