City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to teachers and assist with classroom management Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Build positive, mentoring relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress and attendance using provided tools Support school-wide events, initiatives, and positive school climate activities Collaborate with other AmeriCorps members and school staff as part of a service team Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding student needs and service progress Classroom support Tutoring and academic intervention Youth mentoring Behavior management support Data entry and progress monitoring Communication with students and staff Team collaboration Time management Basic computer literacy (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office) Bilingual communication (preferred, e.g., Spanish/English) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident Must be able to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Demonstrated commitment to youth development and education equity Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish/English preferred5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
