City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support to students and teachers during core academic subjects Deliver small-group and one-on-one tutoring to support academic progress Coach students in social-emotional skills and positive behavior Build strong, supportive relationships with students, families, and school staff Track and document student progress and participation Assist with planning and leading after-school and enrichment programs Participate in ongoing City Year training, coaching, and professional development Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team to meet school and student goals Support school-wide events, initiatives, and positive school climate activities Model City Year’s values of service, inclusion, and social justice Tutoring and academic support Classroom support techniques Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data tracking and documentation Communication and active listening Conflict resolution and de-escalation Time management and organization Team collaboration in school settings Cultural competency and inclusion Facilitation of group and after-school activities Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools Completion of City Year and school district training programs5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
