City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class support and small-group tutoring in core subjects to students identified for additional help Offer mentoring and social-emotional support to help students build confidence, attendance, and engagement Track and report on student progress, attendance, and behavior using established tools and protocols Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and teammates to plan and implement supports and interventions Assist with school-wide activities, events, and after-school programs that promote a positive school climate Participate in regular training, coaching, and professional development sessions provided by City Year Communicate regularly with supervisors and school partners to align on goals and priorities Model professionalism, cultural humility, and inclusive practices in a diverse school environment Support family and community engagement initiatives as directed by school and City Year staff Contribute to a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all students Classroom support Small-group tutoring Youth mentoring Behavior management Data tracking and documentation Communication (verbal and written) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural competency and inclusivity Basic computer and education technology skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Able to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working or volunteering with youth (preferred) Bilingual skills (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
