City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide small-group and one-on-one academic tutoring during and after school Support students’ social-emotional development and positive behavior in classrooms and common areas Collaborate with teachers to track student progress and implement support strategies Lead or assist with after-school programs, clubs, and enrichment activities Participate in school-wide initiatives, events, and service projects Maintain accurate records of student interventions and outcomes Communicate regularly with teammates, school staff, and City Year staff Engage in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Model inclusive, equity-focused practices aligned with City Year’s values Contribute to a positive, collaborative team and school culture Tutoring and academic support Classroom management support Youth mentoring Data tracking and documentation Basic educational technology skills (e.g., Google Suite, learning platforms) Communication (verbal and written) Team collaboration Time management and organization Conflict resolution and de-escalation Cultural competence and equity-focused practice Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for school-based service Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term Experience working with youth (preferred) Spanish or other second language skills (preferred)5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
