Encompass Health is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support our inpatient rehabilitation team. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on assistance with daily living activities, mobility, and personal care while closely supporting nurses and therapists. You’ll record vital signs and intake/output, observe and report patient changes, and help maintain a safe, clean environment. Working in a collaborative, patient-centered culture, you’ll contribute directly to recovery goals while gaining experience in advanced rehab care and opportunities for ongoing training and career growth. Provide direct patient care support including bathing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance under RN or therapist supervision Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, and report changes in patient condition promptly Assist with transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices to support rehabilitation goals and patient safety Maintain clean, safe patient rooms and therapy areas, following infection control and safety protocols Support therapists and nurses during treatments, exercises, and functional training sessions Document care activities accurately in electronic health records per facility standards Respond to call lights and patient requests promptly, ensuring compassionate, patient-centered service Participate in interdisciplinary team communication and shift handoffs to coordinate care plans Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and orientation to the unit and equipment Follow hospital policies, HIPAA, and regulatory standards while upholding Encompass Health’s values Patient care and activities of daily living (ADL) support Vital signs measurement and documentation Safe patient handling, transfers, and mobility assistance Infection control and standard precautions Basic medical terminology Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Rehabilitation-focused care techniques Observation and reporting of patient status changes Team communication in clinical settings HIPAA and patient privacy compliance Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred or required per state regulations Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification Completion of state-approved nurse aide or patient care technician training program Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
