Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally in a school setting
• Ability to interpret for students 1:1 in academic and extracurricular environments
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards
• Flexibility, professionalism, and reliability
• Knowledge of IEPs and ADA guidelines as they pertain to educational interpreting is a plus
• Certification recognized by your state or nationally preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one interpreting services for a student throughout the school day
• Facilitate communication between the student, educators, peers, and staff using ASL
• Accurately interpret lessons, instructions, discussions, and other interactions
• Support student participation in classroom activities and school programs
• Adapt interpreting style to match student needs and learning situations
• Maintain accurate and confidential records as required
