Finance Manager - Real Estate

In this role you will support Bain Capital Real Estate by overseeing accounting and reporting for investment funds and selected direct real estate investments. You will partner with Legal, Tax, Investment, Compliance, Asset Management and Investor Relations to ensure accurate, timely financial information and compliance with REIS non-operating model. You will guide valuations, cash movements, and complex transactions, while driving process improvements and helping the team close quarterly books. This is a hands-on role at scale, shaping reporting for a diversified real estate portfolio.

• Oversee fund-level quarterly and annual financial reporting, including US GAAP fair value reporting via Yardi-based workpapers
• Analyze promote and management fee calculations, including non-recurring transactions such as ownership transfers or complex sales
• Review investment and fund activity for compliance with governing documents
• Research current industry guidance and apply it to the real estate portfolio
• Analyze fund-level cash positions and coordinate capital calls and distributions
• Coordinate with acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancings; ensure timely funding of capital needs
• Coordinate with the fund administrator on setup of future real estate investments and financial statement reviews
• Facilitate annual fund-level audits and responsive auditor requests
• Prepare and review investor-specific deliverables and address investor inquiries
• Provide oversight and coaching to junior staff; contribute to process improvement and AI enablement
• Support valuation and finance matters across portfolio investments; communicate insights to investment teams
• Maintain ongoing documentation of significant matters during quarterly close

• Five to eight years of accounting experience in real estate (preferably at a real estate investment manager)
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting; CPA preferred
• Strong understanding of real estate valuation, portfolio operations, and financial reporting
• Fund reporting and/or public accounting experience preferred
• General understanding of REITs
• Proficiency with fair value reporting and promote calculations
• Yardi experience preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills; mentoring ability; detail-oriented; capable under pressure
• Interest in financial markets and products; willingness to coach junior staff
• Ability to work under deadlines
• Experience with IT tools and AI a plus
