City Year seeks an Academic Tutor and Mentor to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this role, you’ll provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, support classroom instruction, and track student progress. You’ll build positive relationships, serve as a mentor and role model, and help create an inclusive, engaging learning environment. As part of a diverse AmeriCorps team, you’ll receive training, professional development, and coaching while contributing to educational equity and student success. Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core academic subjects Support classroom teachers with instruction and classroom activities Monitor and track student progress and attendance Mentor students to build social-emotional and leadership skills Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about student needs Help create an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment Assist with school-wide initiatives, events, and enrichment programs Participate in City Year trainings, reflection, and professional development Model positive behavior, reliability, and a strong service ethic Contribute to a collaborative AmeriCorps team within the school Tutoring in math Tutoring in English/language arts Lesson reinforcement and academic support Student progress monitoring and data tracking Classroom support and management Youth mentoring and coaching Communication with educators and staff Cultural competence and inclusivity Basic technology and learning platforms Time management and organizational skills Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member Background check clearance for work with youth5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
