City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students’ academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you’ll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You’ll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide in-class academic support and small-group tutoring to students Build positive relationships and serve as a consistent mentor for students Track and report student progress using established tools and data systems Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support classroom and school-wide initiatives Lead or support attendance, behavior, and social-emotional learning activities Participate in City Year trainings, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage families and community partners through outreach and school events Model inclusive, equity-minded practices aligned with City Year’s mission Student mentoring Tutoring in math and English Classroom support Behavior management Data entry and progress tracking Communication with teachers and staff Community outreach Time management Basic computer skills (Google Workspace/MS Office) Cultural competency Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident per AmeriCorps requirements Must meet AmeriCorps eligibility and background check requirements Experience with youth, tutoring, or community service strongly preferred Bilingual skills a plus5c143e31-5e48-4549-b638-05792d185386
