Vice President, Business Development

In this role you will lead the articulation and initial execution of the BD strategy for a subset of Flagship's portfolio companies. You'll operate with high visibility, shaping partnerships between platform technologies and pharma. You will design meaningful partnership concepts and term sheets, and drive deals from concept through executed agreement. You'll work with cross-functional teams to advance value propositions and build partnerable package narratives, with a focus on scalable deal flow within the ecosystem.

• Develop and drive the BD strategy for a portion of the portfolio to enable consistent deal flow across the ecosystem
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to become an expert in the platform and drive deal execution from concept to final agreement
• Partner with the CEO, senior management, and partner groups to inform corporate strategy and identify value drivers for impactful deals
• Articulate the platform's value proposition through messages and partnerable deal concepts
• Define the BD action plan, including data generation for validation, partnership scopes, research plans and exclusivity constructs
• Identify and define relevant biotech and pharma stakeholders
• Lead BD initiatives including outreach, diligence, and structuring transactions with cross-functional support
• Cultivate strong alignment with the CEO and board through shared strategy and buy-in
• Collaborate with R&D to assess early-stage compounds and integrate partnership perspectives early in development

• Minimum 12 years' industry experience with BD and corporate strategy leadership and a track record in sell-side BD for pharma/biotech deals
• Advanced degree strongly preferred (PhD or MD); MBA is a plus
• Senior or executive leadership experience with enterprise-wide oversight across functions
• Ability to understand complex scientific ideas and communicate their value to internal and external stakeholders
• Experience developing or partnering biotech platforms or modalities (discovery to preclinical, Series A/B)
