Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in New York. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside an accomplished litigation team handling sophisticated and high-profile matters across industries.
About the Role
The firm's litigation practice is known for its strategic advocacy, practical problem-solving, and business-minded approach. The team represents clients in complex commercial disputes from pretrial through appeal, collaborating across practice areas to achieve efficient and effective results.
Key Responsibilities

• Handle complex litigation matters from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and other pleadings.
• Oversee document production and manage discovery processes.
• Collaborate closely with team members and clients to advance litigation strategy.
• Contribute to thought leadership initiatives through writing, speaking engagements, and client development activities.
• Participate in in-office collaboration approximately 60% of the time, per firm guidelines.

Qualifications

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission (or eligibility for admission) to the New York Bar.
• Minimum of 4 years of complex litigation experience.
• Judicial clerkship experience is preferred but not required.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Team-oriented and professional in all client interactions.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $310,000 - $365,000
• Annual bonus eligibility.
• Comprehensive benefits package offered.
