Architectural Design & Facilities Representative

Fishman Flooring Solutions is a leading wholesale distributor of flooring and floor covering products. We are a branch-based distribution company that has been in business for more than 107 years and currently has 49 locations across 14 states. This is a fantastic opportunity for an energetic ADF professional to make an impact with an industry-leading firm.

The Architectural Design & Facilities Representative (ADF Rep) is responsible for developing product specifications and generating project opportunities within the architectural, design, and end-user communities. This role builds strong relationships with architects, interior designers, specifiers, facility managers, and end users to ensure Fishman Flooring Solutions products are specified in commercial projects. The ADF Representative works closely with Fishman's outside sales team to convert specifications into contractor sales and long-term business opportunities. The role serves as the bridge between the design community and the Fishman sales organization by identifying projects, securing specifications, and supporting successful project execution. This position supports Fishman Flooring Solutions' commitment to being Employee Owned and Customer-Driven by delivering expertise, responsiveness, and value to customers and partners.

Remote/Hybrid work is available for this position, although some office time will be required. Candidates must be located within the Maryland, Washington DC, Northern Virginia area.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, interior design, architecture, or related field
  • Previous specification sales or A&D experience
  • Commercial flooring industry experience helpful
  • Experience working with architects, designers, or specifiers
  • Understanding of building codes including ADA and IBC
  • Familiarity with LEED and sustainability standards
  • Understanding of commercial flooring applications and product positioning
  • Strong relationship-building and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and public speaking ability
  • Strong territory management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with sales team
  • Strategic thinking and opportunity identification
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Valid driver's license
